LNESC El Paso

El Paso LNESC has been in operation for over 20 years. The center has provided students in the community with post-secondary opportunities, work force skills, scholarships, tutoring/mentoring, educational field trips to area colleges and universities, career day activities, and computer technology programs. The El Paso Community and LNESC have created a partnership in reaching the educational needs of all El Pasoans. The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso have been very instrumental in accommodating LNESC with various communities where to work with. Currently, El Paso LNESC, has two sites.

Developing Lifelong Learners

Both centers in El Paso provide educational opportunities to the residents and is open to the public. Lastly, several participants of the El Paso LNESC staff have started as students from our high school programs. Others have started from our college intern program and have graduated and stayed with LNESC. Such members include Shane Weller (Philadelphia Center Director) and Carmen Ibarra who started as a college intern with LNESC and is currently a Talent Search Educational Advisor. There have been many more participants who have taken advantage of the opportunities that LNESC in El Paso have provided.

Thank you for providing great experiences throughout my high school. It was great experiencing those trips. I learned a lot from the Lockheed Martin Trip. I learned how to get internships there. I also really enjoyed the trip to the different competitions that we participated in. Thank you!

Being part of the LNESC program has opened many doors and given me many opportunities. It has allowed me the chance to continue my education while being able to help kids who may not have been given the same resources as others while growing up. As a future educator, it has allowed me the chance to experience my field of work and be able to grasp the concept of how much an educator can make a difference, even if it’s just in one student
